UNLOCKING THE VAULT
The poems and stories take us on journeys to Joseph Deehan's ancestral home of Ireland where we encounter some of the mystery and magic, and even the sorrow, of that fabled land. We also visit his native New Jersey, including a stop at the Jersey Shore, and travel to his current base in South Carolina at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. His work is lyrical and poignant, and engages the reader in his insightful perception of the world around him. Journey I saw the rose beneath the ground. Deep in the earth the seed broke down. Green shoots emerged and hurried toward the light. I saw their struggle, resolution unbound.

Solar Reflection
This is a broad collection that explores such things as passage of time, boyhood and old age, wonders of nature, and the subtle ironies of life. It blends the serious with the lighthearted. We meet a couple of famous people along the way, as well as a lonely dog in search of a home. We travel across parts of the USA and Ireland. Most importantly, the poetry is accessible to the reader and does not dwell on the obscure.
